Staff Decorator Position Details

The staff decorator is a member of the store team, spends 10 — 16 scheduled hours per week in the store working as a member of the customer service team, servicing customers, generating leads, and all other store functions. When not scheduled in the store, time is spent doing complimentary in-home consultations, business building, doing pre and post sale follow-up activities, and processing paperwork as required. The position is either 32 or 40 hours per week. Written daily activity planners outlining all sales activity must be submitted on a regular basis as required. This position reports to both the store manager as well as the manager responsible for all outside sales activities. 

This being a sales based position requires someone with excellent interpersonal skills, sales ability, the ability to close sales and do consistent follow-up. A minimum of three of out four weekends per month must be worked. A reliable vehicle with business use insurance must be provided. As this is a sales position some additional time over and above will be required to process customer requests and orders, the bonus program is complete compensation for the additional time. A satisfactory error and gross margin sales rate must be retained to be eligible for sales bonuses. Attending sales and product seminars, store meetings and maintaining excellent product knowledge is required, A home based work area, along with a fax machine and a computer are strongly recommended to have for ease of work performance.
