We are moving into a 37 year old home that has extensive drywall valance in the house, the one in the living/dinning room is about 26 feet.
We do not want to go to the expense of removing the valance due to the repairs to the ceiling.
Do you have any ideas to help distract from the dating of this 70's touch.
Thanks
Denise
I've just redone my interior a Hydrangea Red colour along with iced sicamore laminate (light brown) and maple cabinets with SS appliances in the kitchen. I have a sliding glass door and a very large picture window (10' wide x 5' high). Along with a few other 3'x3' windows. Any recommendations? Blinds typically aren't typically wide enough for the picture window. Was thinking of a top tab panel type drape, but haven't found any big enough either. Is it better to match walls? or floor? or contrast with both?
What do you suggest for a baby's room? I want a modern look that keeps the sun out during the day. I live minutes from you and would like to see what you suggest. Also do you install? Thanks
Roman shades are a very nice modern look for a baby's room that can be lined with black-out fabric to minimize the light during the day.
Hi,
I have 2 wing-back chairs. What is the estimated cost comparison between having them reuphostered or having a slipcover made?
Thank you,
Catharine
Slipcoving can be marginally less expensive but generally the cost of labour is very similar as well as the yardage required between slipcovering and reupholstery .
Most people that want a slipcover are looking for the flexibility and/or look.
I'm pretty sure I know that you guys do custom drapes, but I just wondered how it works if I need advice on what style and do I pick the fabric? Do you come to the house to do the measurements and perhaps choose a style according to the existing furniture? I would like curtains made for an office,a kitchen/dining area and a unused dining room. Thanks for your time.
Yes we do make drapes. General the best thing to do is come in and choose a fabric first. The style will often depend on what suits the pattern or colour as well as how you want the drape to function etc...
I often say that we will do as much or as little as you want us to:
1. You can come into the store and pick a fabric and take it home.
2. Bring in your measurements, pick a fabric and we will make them up for you.
3. We will send out a decorator to assist you in choosing fabric, style, measure your window and then have the drapes made-up and installed.
Note: I still recommend that even if we send someone out to your home that you first come into the store as the decorators only have a limited supply of samples while we have over a thousand bolts of fabric in-stock, plus hanger samples and books.
Hope that helps you out, I look forward to seeing you in the store.
